Photo Journalism
Photo journalism is really just capturing the story of an event using images. Working in my own scrapbooks for the past 20 years, my eyes and brain have learned to see the story taking place at events. It is really quite fun capturing that story. But it doesn't stop at taking the picture, it is printing it. Whether it is a scrapbook or digital book, the printed image is crucial. There is nothing like having the book in your lap to enjoy forever.
Since 2007, I have had the amazing opportunity to tell our summer swim team’s story with photos; first taking the photos during each meet and then creating a “yearbook.” During our swim team sign-ups, the collection of yearbooks is displayed. The kids and parents alike pour over the memories, reliving them
Whether it is taking photos at a wedding, a first birthday, or summer league swim meets, the story is important. When you have an event, you want to enjoy visiting with all the people who came. Dilemma solved…have me there to take photos. I move through the event subtly and capture the little and the big details.
Capturing the story being told during an event is an honor. Do you have an upcoming event where you want the story told and you want to enjoy the fun? Tell me about it. Read a little more about me here.
